Production Blog: The Journey on

Now that I have my desired software and structure for my video, I'll have to start with the footage I need for the video. First of all, I need to pick a location, time, and weather for this footage, but of course, I can always just record in-doors, but instead my thinking is that I don't want the viewer to feel confined to a room, I want to make it feel like its all happing outside their homes, in the nature and beauty. For the footage, I will be using a standard phone camera or If I'm feeling fancy I'll use a VHS Sony camera, and then convert it to mp4 for an extra effect you normally wouldn't be able to achieve, and I feel as this effect would enhance the feeling of an outer world as everyone is used to high definition video and audio of people dancing on TikTok. For the footage, I will also be using a green screen, it's not the most reliable thing in nature as there are factors like wind, people, and grizzly bears, but I have a solution to that, a closed area there isn't many people and not much wildlife interactions, this poses a safe place to film where I am not disturbing the peace of nearby people or the flow of nature. After finding an appropriate place to film, I will set, up and mount the green screen, for those who don't understand why I will be using a green screen in nature is for the exact reasons, I want to be presented in a space where I have the opportunity to show relation to a subject I will talk about, and also show that I am filming in a place where you can free, aka the outdoors, it shows more opportunities and I want to tie that to the story I will be telling. Meanwhile, I will also be present with a script+improv, I think it's appropriate to have a good schedule and pace when recording in an environment that can change because I want it to be authentic, but also efficient as in pace, and I can't deal with myself standing still for 30 seconds thinking of a topic to talk about, so I'll have that ready beforehand.

Using a script can help a lot, meaning this also helps with the editing trial of this production which can take time, The scripts themselves are efficient but the trouble is communicating correctly with the script,. This mainly means you are correctly reading the script, and doing the right actions according to the editing that is required in the aftermath of the footage, meaning it can be a bit harder, but at the end of the footage is it easier to communicate ideas with yourself in the video, and after the video. At the moment I have a location I have found appropriate but I will not share or provide the name of this place for privacy reasons, one thing I have to do when filming in different spots is not leak too many superficial details that can give away the location for any funny guys who are just a little too funny. So during the filming of the footage I will have another phone that will be recording my voice, I will overlay the voice file over the mp4 footage on the recording phone, and I can use the two separate audio files to show transitions or to emphasize or certain aspects/points I make or want to have known during the footage. I will also be using a laptop on the outer side of the screen to keep track of my scheduling as I'm doing the video. I will take multiple trials of filming to get the best of the shots in case one gets corrupted, bad audio, the camera falls over, or some other type of occurrence that may happen.

There's not a lot to say about the trial of footage, but as said I will do these operations to obtain what I believe to be proper footage for my video. Another thing I will do is have voice-overs, and parts of footage that will be added in a computer POV where I will not be outside but inside talking through a microphone. I don't want this to affect the video mic quality too much because I'm worried it will be too disturbing so I will try to adjust the audio levels to justify changes in the quality. To conclude and go over what I've done so far in the footage part of the production, I've got a camera and audio device, a location for recording, a script to go off of, and a proper green screen setup to better enhance the quality of the video production. I know that the green screen setup is still not as great as the 20x50 professional setups some funny guys with too much money have. At the end of the day, it's still a working and functioning green screen that will work just fine under the conditions I will attempt to put it under, also I will attempt to fortify and adjust the green screen to operate under stronger conditions in case there is a sudden change in the environment I could obtain information to about prior to setup.

In the next video, I want to talk about how the process of this actually was executed and how I will attempt to compensate for the flaws in the video. Because I still understand that I won't be a 10/10 confetti-type video, and will still have room for improvement, I will attempt to use as much of that improvement as I possibly can, and the important part is I know It won't be the best quality, so I'm not overconfident in my skills but still confident I can make something entertainable, informational, and watchable.

Peace - Daniel
