Production Blog: Preparation

The start of any great journey begins with preparation for the journey itself. The journey we prepare for requires a couple steps of preparation in order to succeed in the later steps of the Production journey we face, We had already gone over the basics structures of a production, and now we'll go over the basic parts needed for production. First of all, we need footage, without it there is no video, and there is no journey to travel, The footage is the overall basis of production, where it is added to, changed, or manipulated. Footage can come in many forms, either recorded in person or in a virtual setting where the footage may represent a category of genres like music, commercial, entertainment, live-show settings, etc. Next comes the composure of the footage, this may be a part of video structure, but also a very important part of content creation. When you have your footage established and finalized after you have correctly ordered the content to your desired timeline, and a timeline is the order of content and in which it takes place, Ex. 3:23 to 4:12 is the explanation in a documentary about Fox Sparrows,  and after 4:12 to 6:41 the conclusion about Fox Sparrows is presented.

After you have chosen the story and composure of your video next is the editing, Because you now have everything set you are able to confidently edit the video to your desired plot. Video editing is everything in a video, ranging from cutting videos together into one, adjusting sound volume or effects for better and more pleasant sound, to anything, even what once appeared impossible. Editing overall is an important part of a video and is used to shape and morph a video into a final product, but the thing is there is more than just one type of editing style, think of it as art where there are multiple drawing styles like anime, manga, photorealism, cartoon, and others your probably can add with. This saying editing is not the same thing, but a style that varies from person to person, and the way they edit videos, it's all unique and varies on the type of editing you want for your content or video. My style of editing is different all along, it may be good, or it may be bad, but experimenting for the best style where the viewer is able to enjoy the content is an important factor to fight for. There is a variety of ways to edit a video, but what will you use to edit a video? There is a lot of software/apps that range from Macintosh to Windows, and to IOS to Android, and it is important to pick a software that can provide the proper features in order to perform basic editing, and if possible to choose the software that makes it easier to edit through the use of simpler actions or inbuilt functions that replace sweat and time with a few inputs and a press of a button.

I will be using software I am accustomed to and have used in the past, Adobe Premiere Pro, It's also important to be able to trust software that it's able to perform its purpose successfully, and I personally trust this software, as It's worked for me before, and is being updated to support newer features, and fix older bugs that might have affected footage and features. I will also be using Photoshop to create custom photos/images in order to visualize certain subjects for the viewer, as I'm also comfortable with using Photoshop, and trusting in using it to perform its desired purpose. When creating something that takes time and patience it's important to have a schedule that allows you to keep track of the progress that you have finished, and the progress that needs to be made in steps, I will use Trello as it's an online website that allows you to track that steps you need to finish, it has a calendar, a table, and a feature that allows you to add people to work with you on the website together, but you can also use standard paper, but knowing me I'll probably lose the paper and all my tracking, it's easier to have it in a place where I can't lose it due to my own self, and access to it where ever I go. A lot of people have their own preferences or software limitations forcing them to use only software that is specificated to their device, or software that is poor enough in quality to the point the computer or phone is able to run it without issue. A lot of other editing software are Final Cut Pro which is available across most platforms, and other software like iMovie which is available in IOS and macOS only, or Final Cut Pro which is a far stronger editing software as opposed to Imovie but only for macOS. Opposed to an Online Website you can just use a piece of paper if you're able to keep track of it and use it effectively, because most of us are used to writing instead of typing and that's ok! When it comes to these preparatory steps these are my preferences but others have their own preferences as opposed to mine, they may have different styles, or different videos to make, or just completely different situations, but it is not for me to say what they have to do or use.
