Production blog: Revisions :/
Looking back through the footage the script, even with the improv itself seemed bland, and unenergetic, and I want to change it up to the point where it's more user-orientated. My current script consists of what I like to call our stages, which consist of developments between my arguments or informative speeches, and in this situation, it is a video introducing myself. Think of these stages as trees, they have leaves, branches, a trunk, and roots, it's a system based on the importance and building off as an organized operation in order to end up with a completed tree, shaped and maneuvered into the tree you first desired to have. I feel like there is a significant flaw in this concept because usually if you wanted to make a change or implement a new idea into the video, it would affect all the other roots and branches, if it's too small, the leaves won't hold, and if the trunk is not big enough the whole tree will fall down because the video is imbalanced now. I tried to implement a lot of improv but still had a basic plan to follow using this tree concept but it turned out still very hard to manipulate, so I decided to re-do the entirety of the script with a more manipulative setting where I could add on, and remove If I ever wanted to. Keep word that I still want to make the video widely improv to keep it in a real and literal feeling where It's not all scripted, and I just say what I have to say. I want to follow the original route I had in mind just I want to execute the way I follow that route a little differently than one normally would.
So far the journey has been like a road of smooth stones, it can be rocky, but smooth at the same time, I was able to properly organize my tasks and properly complete them in a timely manner, where I was able to follow a timeline. The Rocky parts are a little something, When I got the green screen originally it wasn't the highest quality, so I had to spend a day altering joints and fixing imperfections within the fabric, it took a good amount of time, but at the end I got a good quality fabric + stand to work with. There was also a time when my Laptop battery sent out its last breaths in the form of smoke, and due to this I had to work using my phone, due to the use of my phone I wasn't able to multiple Windows which stop multi-tasking, just a minor setback, I guess my laptop is just getting all the replacement this season. Obviously, there are the very unfortunate events of the weatherman incident that took place not very long ago, yet another setback that was detrimental, because, the keyboard is not as easy to replace as a battery. And dating to today, it hasn't been specifically a breeze, still attempting to pick a day when the average Florida weather is on vacation, so I'll start the video off with some type of From-PC to speed up the process. If the weather does improve over the time period I will reconsider the PC intro, and this is the nice thing about a flexible script, I am able to change certain aspects of the video without causing too much interference between the other parts/structures of the video. The revisions I try to make for the benefit of the video, I'm not relying on the ease of the execution for myself, but mainly focus on the quality of content I am trying to achieve.
My smallest problem with these revisions at the moment is that I think it's a big change for the content I'm doing and It's going to take a big change in the work I'm currently working on creating, and it will need revising in order to create a flexible environment where it can fit together piece by piece, but the shapes can mend around each other. Mainly apart from the script and structure, I am concerned about the overall execution of the flexible flow of the video, its the actually flexible flow going to affect the video in the way I believe it's going to affect it, or is it just going to worsen the video overall, that's something I need to experiment with as time goes on. To make sure that these structures and procedures well I will be doing a mini test, I will record a 5-minute video, and change up some things from minor, to entirely different factors and see how it affects the video result, will it be choppy, unorganized, un entertainable, or just the complete the opposite of these stated. One big problem I see with all these revisions is the video itself, even if I find a good structure to follow, will it fit my video fully? Every video is unique, even if it's the same subject, the way you transfer this information is also very important, and I don't know if the way I'm transferring this information is advanced enough to provide quality content that does its job of transferring information to the user/viewer of the video. This is a very big concern for a lot of the videos I've done in the past, and I feel like its a concern for others who occupy this as a full-time career, of scripting, organizing, structuring, filming, editing, and go through multiple trials of this, how do they preset to the type of video they need, and how do they acquaint to the type of way the data is given. Some last words into this amazing blog, these is just revisions I plan to experiment with, and they may not be final due to quality concern, plus also some of my own concerns about the video and it's current state and revisions.
Peace :3
